Professor Viviane Cuore
by Taylor Spence

So we all know them, the Professors of Hogwarts School. However how much do we really know about them. About there jobs, there lives, who they are, their families. These are just some questions of the ever curious students that walk our halls. Who exactly are those men and women who teach us? This is a Day in the Life of Professor Viviane Cuore.

Josh Daniels, a seventh year Slytherin, had this to say about Professor Cuore: “…hottest DHOH on the face of the earth.”

Vince Goyle, a third year Slytherin, added this in: “shes hot. Definitely hot. But uh oh wait dont publish that! Crystal will kill me! No shes an awesome Professor. Truly amazing! None better hands down. The Slytherin world would be nothing without her.”

Adam Flint, another third year Slytherin, wished to say this: “She’s a great professor but a terrible girlfriend. Not that we ever went anywhere. Something about “standards”…I don’t know.”

Lorinda Swansong, a third year Hufflepuff, didn’t have much to say regarding Professor Curore but she did say this: “the Dark Arts class is interesting, and a real eye opener.”

Now I don’t know about the guys comments but I do agree that Professor Cuore is an awesome DHOH, and I’m not just saying that becuase I’m a Slytherin. This week, I was unable to be able to sit down with Professor Cuore. She was very busy making sure Slythoween is prefect, and that her classes were taken care of, so I sent her an owl with these questions.

What do you teach? I teach Dark Creatures in the Defense Against the Dark Arts department *giggles* or rather the Dark Arts dept. this month.

Do you have any family here at Hogwarts? Nope, I was the only Hogwarts student in my family and now I’m the only one to ever teach here. Though my niece will drop in every now and then. I hear Mr. Daniels encountered her once. *smirks*

What is your favorite part about your job?
Getting to bring my own pet in to show off and seeing my student’s reactions to it in my class.

What’s your least favorite? Having to deal with the first years. They get worse and worse each year. *pause* No offense Ms. Spence.

Strawberry or Grape Jelly? Hmm…Strawberry.

Chocalate or Vanilla? Definitely hands down, Chocolate

Pumpkin Juice or Butterbeer? Gotta go with Butterbeer

Severus Snape or Horace Slughorn? Snape all the way.

Draco Malfoy or Gregory Goyle? Ha, Goyle. Sorry Scorpius.

Scorpius if your reading this, it’s not you, it’s your Dad.

In three words, describe your normal day. Busy. Entertaining. Thrilling.

What’s it like being deputy head of Slytherin? Its better than I thought it would be. I definitely like the fact that I get to help set the example of how Slytherins should act.

How do you think this years Slytherin Pride month will turn out? Well for sure it will be better than last year, at least in my opinion. We have more activities and events planned out. Especially with the whole Slytherin house being on the Royalty Court. Should make things interesting.

What is one interesting fact about yourself? I can put my whole fist in my mouth. Haha no just kidding. I’m a fan of the Falmouth Falcons and I’d like to think the Slytherin team would be like them as well…

For the record, I can’t stick my fist in my mouth either. Wait, let me make sure that’s true…. nope, I can’t.

Outside of Hogwarts, what is you’re favorite pass time? I do love going to quidditch matches and not just the school ones. Gotta root for the Falcons.

What is you’re favorite thing about Dark Creatures? I love being able to handle the different creatures it offers. And I love hearing the creative questions my students ask.

What is your favorite Color? As long as I can remember its been Purple but Green has been my favorite most recently.

Professor Devlin talked about parties in Slytherin. Anything you would like to add to that? Yea, we need more of them. I know two older Slytherins who plan on sparking them up again soon.

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date? Probably getting the deputy head title. I really like to focus on the Slytherins as much as I can.

Did you always want to be a Professor? If not, then what did you wish to be? I never really knew what I wanted to be but once I was taught on the side by my father, I saw how much he enjoyed teaching me so I took that and instantly began teaching.

What is your favorite hobby, or something you love to do? Hanging students by their thumbs when they ask me too many questions.

Erm… would twenty-one questions consitute as too many? I hope not, because I would really hate to be hanging byt my thumbs after I write this all up. Then again, maybe since I’m writing about Professor Cuore herself, she’ll forgive me… knock on wood.

Will you read this interview when it’s published? Most likely.

So unfortunely that’s it with Professor Cuore, but if you really want to know her, I suggest you go visit her tent in the Royalty Court and just ask her a bunch of questions. Afterall, if all the Slytherins are saying she is awesome, she must be. -

The Boardgame - Thursday the 15th and 22nd
Results will be updated each week.
How to Play
-Each week, Submit your Name! By PMing Nick Shwimmer just with a title of The Boardgame and any nice, pleasant message you wish to write to me. Message not required.
-I will, for each Submission, take a card from a deck of cards (1-13), and record each person’s movement forward, to which space. I’ve increased the number of spaces you can move at once because it was a little inactive and I want to give more people a chance.
-The next week, I will place the results for that week (what spaces people are on), and the same picture of the board, just for a visual.
-You Submit your name again if you wish to keep going; You have 2 Weeks left to Submit your name total.
-When the time is up, anyone who reached the Finish Line earns 15 House Points!

Aries - Be careful that you’re not brave to the point of stupidity. Someone may be out to get you - try playing safe for a while?
Taurus - Your stamina will serve you well this week. But beware! All is not as it seems.
Gemini - Your sharp tongue may get you into a spot of bother. Don’t be foolish - learn how to quit when you’re ahead!
Cancer - Your friendships may be difficult just now. Respect your friends and remain loyal to them, things will work out in the end.
Leo - You may find your classes quite trying this week, either because of the work itself or the people. Use your creativity to find a solution.
Virgo - Your anxiety will get the better of you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help - there are people willing to support you.
Libra - Look deep inside of you to find the answers you need. Your rationality will help you, but things aren’t as clear as they look at first glance.
Scorpio - Selifshness is not a desirable trait, and you are aware of that! You may find yourself masking your own selfish desires under the pretence of wanting the best for others.
Sagittarius - Optimism is a wonderful characteristic that you are lucky to own. You may find it being tested this week, however!
Capricorn - Manipulation is your way of getting your own way, and you aren’t afraid to use it, or to exploit others, to do so.
Aquarius - Fiery tempers get the better of you this week - even the smallest events may cause you to explode!
Pisces - People-pleasers, you find it hard to say “no”. This may cause you to take on more than you can deal with … and what will you do then?!
