We have finally reached the day the first HO Pensieve has been published! Please take a chance to look through the paper daily, there will be fun publications Monday-Friday that will be run weekly for your enjoyment. The following is a schedule that we will try to strick to with columns that will be published.

Today marks the start of Slytherin’s Pride Month, better known as Slythoween. Much excitement has surrounded this event, and there have been odd rumours floating around the castle about pirate lookout towers and Hufflepuff torture rooms for weeks now. Pirate towers sound pretty cool, but hopefully no torture rooms will pop up around Hogwarts. In hopes of discovering the truth - if any - in these tales, the HO Pensieve has brought you an exclusive interview with one of Slytherin’s most well known students; Miss Ginger Wadsworth herself. I caught up with Ginger - a third year prefect - at the Three Broomsticks, where we had a lovely chat concerning the secrets of Slythoween.

SA: First off, just to clear the air: are there any pirate lookout towers?
GW: You’ll have to wait and see.

What about Hufflepuff torture rooms?
-snickers- Wouldn’t you like to know.

So where will the main parts of Slythoween be taking place?
At Hogwarts, of course!

Will there be any feasts or dances like there have been in recent pride months?
There might quite possibly be a dance or feast, wait and see.

Is there anything in particular that you’re looking forward too?
The month of October.

Okay then. Can you tell us anything about Slythoween that’s a bit more descriptive?
That there are many fun things planned.

As you can see, Ginger isn’t the most helpful person to talk to. At least she seems excited though, that means Slythoween must be good. Luckily for us, we won’t have to ‘wait and see’ much longer, seeing as Slythoween activities will begin popping up all around Hogwarts beginning today; so have fun and enjoy the special month! And to all the Hufflepuffs out there: beware of Slytherins lurking in dark corners or empty classrooms, you never know what they’re up to.

Absences and Returns

• Professor Jeff Taylor and nephew Peter Dereks may be out of town due to a family emergency. His TA, Lyra Elani will look after his class until he returns
• Alana Forrester makes a welcome return to Hogwarts this weekend.
• Hufflepuffs Arwen Stareven and Marissa Scarlet are also away on family business.
• Gryffindors Tabitha Clarke and Lizzadora Chantilly are due back this weekend.

New Members
The Sorting Hat worked it magic and welcomed Eleanor Emerson and Myoubi Rozdecroi to Hufflepuff and Amber O’Malley to Ravenclaw

Club News
Athletes of Hogwarts - Polling has closed on the next club event. Will it be a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, dance competition or mock sword fights? Join up to see!
Banner Club - September Banner Challenge to be announced. The theme - Happy Haunting.
Blood Alliance - Membership still open, new club meeting room available for member’s use.
Book Club - New Readers Corner now open!
Dueling Club - Dueling Arena now open. See Professor Azalea or Attila Bathory for details.
Flyers Anonymous - Quidditch debate and Synchronized Flying sign ups open. Suggestions welcome.
Future Lawyers - First case is now closed, defendant found not guilty. Next case to come.
Future Professors of Hogwarts (FPoH) - TA of the month due to be announced, with Professor Bishop promising ‘prizes’. Good luck TA’s!
G.E.E.K. - Student Help Program now open for Fall term. Tutors and tutorees welcome!
Hogwarts Players - Banner challenge is on, only one entry so far.
Pureblood United - Totally revamped, with new moderator Professor Smerch, and club emblem.
Scroll & Quill Club - Writers unite! Lounge for roleplay, and have your work critiqued by fellow writers.
Wizard Chess Club - Like chess? Like violence? This is the club for you. Sofia Anderson is Chess Player of the Month, could it be you next month?
Yearbook Club - It’s a while til this term’s yearbooks are out, so join up and help create them! Membership open all year round.
