Quidditch Cancelled

By Nick Shwimmer

The Dark Wizards have invaded Hogwarts! After only being here for a manner of days, they have managed to capture Hogwarts Staff, who are now hanging in the Great Hall! In addition, students have had their wands stolen except for a select few, and many students are acting very odd for themselves. In the midst of all this, the question lies of what events will and will not continue here at the School.

Quidditch, one of the most favored sports in the Wizarding World, had been CANCELLED for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This decision has been chosen for a variety of reasons, so check in below to find out why!

Lack of Staff

One of the many reasons why Quidditch has been cancelled lies in the lack of Staff here at Hogwarts. Every Quidditch match requires two adults to be present, a Head and Assistant Referee. Due to the arrival of the Dark Wizards, professors are not available to Referee a game. There are those hanging in the Great Hall, those helping the Dark Wizards, and those busy fending them off. Even the Ministry is incapable of interference with our Quidditch Match due to International Threats as well! Beauxbatons is at high risk of being the next target of the Dark Wizards and a creature is ravaging the Japanese School of Mahootsukai!

High Risk of Attack

Quidditch comes with a high risk anyway, but it has an additional risk with the arrival of the Dark Wizards. Fourteen children flying in the air is risky enough, true, but what happens if the Dark Wizards were to show up and attack? The result could be catastrophic. Meanwhile, what about the students who have joined the Dark Wizards either willingly or not? They could cause terrible things to happen in a Quidditch Pitch, so why risk it?

Missing Brooms

A groups of students headed down to the Quidditch Pitch for some good-mannered practice. Upon entering the barn that usually holds the School’s brooms, they found it empty. Cleaned out entirely and not a broom within sight. Students of all houses have reported missing brooms. Could this be the work of the Dark Wizards? An investigation has yet to be instigated due to major problems elsewhere in the School.

Terrible Weather

Entirely unrelated to the Dark Wizards invading Hogwarts, but there has been Terrible Weather lately. Weather with high winds that would blow Quidditch Players off course, rain so dense the Golden Snitch would be nigh impossible to spot, and visibility so low that many more students would be targets for the bludgers.

Until Farther notice, the Fall Quidditch Season has been Cancelled. Check back here for more updates on the Season.

Glance in Advance

This morning, as I sipped my tea, a strange and eerie feeling came over me. I immediately turned toward my crystal ball, wondering if I could find any insight into this feeling. A very dark fog filled the crystal ball, then slowly cleared away. The scene within, gave me shivers down to my toes. I saw the Great Hall, inside the wonderful castle of Hogwarts, but the sight was not one anyone had seen in quite some time. Professors were hanging upside down, apparently unconscious, while other professors were working alongside many dark wizards. Students had their wands taken away, though I did happen to see that some of them were smart and hid their wands in unlikely places. The dark fog filled the crystal ball once more, infuriating me as this was most unusual.

What does this mean to the fate of Hogwarts and it’s inhabitants? I really do not know. However, I do know that the school and it’s students need help. How many professors are unconscious? Are any of the students injured? Again, I do not have that information as of yet. I will, however, give out any information I recieve through my crystal ball.

* * * *

Another dark fog fills my crystal ball, then clears, showing me a classroom with several Hufflepuff students, two Slytherin students, and a Ravenclaw student, along with a psychotic looking dark wizard. The man has the slytherin student, the ravenclaw and hufflepuff students all in his command. How he managed this, is unkown to me. The scene quickly changes to room somewhere in the dungeons, where this same wizard has taken two other hufflepuff students, forcing them to drink some kind of potion. The effects of this potion seems to make the students complacent, and willing to do whatever the wizard tells them to. Once again, the infuriating dark fog fills the crystal ball, without showing me anything more.

These two visions seem related in some way. Is Hogwarts safe? Will the Ministry send Officials to check the school and the well-being of it’s inhabitants? These are ideal questions that require answers.

Dark Wizards Invade Hogwarts
By: Lyra Elani

The famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been invaded by dark wizards! All the Professors have been either placed under a spell, or given some sort of potion that has left them unconscious. Full details are not completely known as of yet. Last week, the students were told to gather into the Great Hall, where they witnessed the Professors’ inert forms hanging from invisible hooks. This is a sight that would cause even adults to shiver, much less students. The students also had their wands taken from them by the Dark Wizards that were in the Great Hall.

We are not completely sure, but we think, (hope really), that some students were able to get lucky and keep possession of their wands. Rumors going about the school state that students are taken hostage, so to speak, and made to follow whatever orders the Dark Wizards issue them. Word also has it that many students are not making it easy for these Dark Wizards, which is good. I must warn you all, that all passageways and exits have been sealed. Which means there is no escape from Hogwarts, or the school grounds. No one wants to see, or hear about any of our students being harmed, so please tread carefully! At the moment, this is all we can report.

Important Hogwarts Update
By: Lyra Elani

On November 28, 2009, the Governors of Hogwarts were saddened to announce the approved resignation of Prof. Elizabeth Peevison from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

She has been a very positive role model to all our students and staff members. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty for the entire school, and will be sadly missed by us all. However, she has decided to be a stay at home mum to her children, and her husband, Prof. Marvin Peevison, is still on staff here.

Prof. Dakota Kane has been promoted to Hufflepuff HoH, and has stated he will try to fill Lizzie’s shoes. Congratulations and Good luck Prof. Dakota Kane! Prof. David Byrne has been named DHoH. Congratulations and good luck Prof. David Bryne!

Prof. Chauncey Clemenceau stated: Without a doubt, Elizabeth has been a vital part of our community and will be sorely missed.

Prof. Lena Svarri stated: I’ll miss her love, and never down additude. She was a light in the dark, and brought so much hope and love to us. I wish her the best of luck.

While I cannot speak for everyone else, I wish Prof. Elizabeth Peevison the best of luck and think her children are extremely lucky to have her home with them.

A Day in the Life

NO ONE!
By: Taylor Spence

Now usually I start an interview with a teacher, we talk, blah blah blah, and I give it out for all you readers to… well, to read, duh. However, for the time being, things are going to have to be different. If you live under a rock and don’t know what is going on, read the papers, ask a neighbor, or even find an unknown evil looking adult and ask them: “What is going on? Where are the Professors?” Or you can just read my next sentence. The teachers are gone. Poof! No, I’m joking, they’re in the Great Hall hanging by the ceiling in a deep sleep. Why, you may ask? Well, if you had gone to that unknown evil looking adult you would have noticed right away why. I’m not the news so find out yourself. However, I will say the teachers will be unaviable for the time being.

Now this should be good news to me, and give me a nice break on writing the interviews, right? Wrong. Instead of Professors, I have decided to interview… drum roll please… the unknown evil looking adults! More commonly known as Dark Wizards. Now you may also be wondering, “Taylor, why would you think to do such a thing? Aren’t you worried that they will hurt you?” Yeah, but that makes the interviews that much better. My suffering is for your beneifit. You should be thanking me. Go on thank me. I know, I’m wonderful.

So how will this work? The same as the Professors interview. I ask questions, they answer. Simple, I know, even a caveman can do it. So all you students who wish to know more information on our guests, where they came from, what they are doing, why they took over this school, and what us students have to do with it, and maybe just what their favorite jam is, well just stayed tuned for A Day in the Life an you may just gets some answers yourself.-
