Dark Wizards of Hogwarts
By: Taylor Spence

So as you all know, the Professors are a bit… tied up at the moment. If you didn’t know, then you live under a rock and need to get a larger brain. That, or your a blind, deaf, mute who needs to live in the muggle world. I’ve covered this already, just a friendly reminder. Either way, I will not be conducting interviews with the Professors for the next couple weeks instead, I will be interviewing the plethora of Wizards who have came to this school and turned it upside down. I’m talking about the Dark Wizards.

Now unlike the many interviews before, and much like Professor Devlin’s interview, I was able to come face-to-face with my interviewees. In other words, the Dark Wizards themselves. Thats right, I, Taylor Spence, a young eleven year old sat face to face with people that most likely have killed larger people than me. Would they kill me? Merlin, I hope not, I at least want to make it to second year before I die. However, I’m sure this interivew will be very…. enlightening.

The first thing I had to do however, was actually show up for said interview. You’re probably thinking that I didn’t show, or that I was late. If you thought that, you would be wrong. I may not be brave enough to be in Gryffindor House, but I have enough bravery to show up. Give a kid some more credit. So yes I showed up. The interview location was set in Professor Celestina Smerch’s Office. Professor Smerch is currently in the Great Hall. If you have a problem then you try to wake her up… after you read this interview of course.

Upon making it to the room, I knocked and was granted access. One of the Dark Wizards was of course already there. ‘Ozzie’ Ozwald was leaning back against Professor Smerch’s chair with his booted feet planted on her desk. If my mother was here she would have reprimanded him. Shame Mr. Ozwald, you should know better. A few moments later, the second Dark Wizard showed up, Mr. Lazare Rainer. He doesn’t talk very much. A few moments later, it was decided that Ivan Macnair had much more important things to do then have an eleven year old bug him with questions. I don’t know if that should be a burn on me or a burn on his fellow Dark Wizards for having NOTHING important to do.

Once the Ivan matter was cleared up, I moved on to start the interview. To say I was a tad bit nervous would be an understatement. At least I had my head together to get my things out, like this beautiful Parchment, and the ink in which these words are formed. Yay for me for thinking ahead. I gave my interviewees a few moments to get ready before I started, however, ‘Ozzie’ laughed at me. Then told me to start. Okay then. First thing I did was ask them the basics.

Taylor Spence (TS): What are your names?

Damian ‘Ozzie’ Ozwald (OO): “I am called Ozzie, but my name is Damian.”

Lazare Rainier (LR): “I am Lazare Rainier.”

TS: Why did you two go along with Logan O’Conners plan to take over Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?

OO: “Logan has loads of great plans, and he is very confident. I joined Logan simply because I wanted to.”

LR: “Why not?” Pause “He lets me burn things.”

I told you Lazare was a quiet one. But for the record, his name is Lazare Rainer. Must I say that Lazare looked as though he’d rather be anywhere but in that room. Like he was about to bolted any moment the way he leaned against the wall near the door. Yeah, he definitly wanted to bolt.

TS: What made you go… dark?

OO: “…nothing made me go dark. I am the same now, as I’ve always been as a lad”

Now if I understand this right, ‘Ozzie’ was the same as he was when he was a young boy… does that mean he liked torturing and killing? He liked scaring the wits out of people? Merlin, they must have had a rough time with him as a kid. His poor parents.

LR: “There is anything but dark?”

TS: So I take it you were in Slytherin went you came here… if you came here?

OO: “Yes, I was a proud member of Slytherin House. My father wanted me to attend Durmstrang, as he had, but my mum and her family have all come to Hogwarts.”

LR: “I was born and raised on the boarder between France and Germany. Things are taught differently there. The Dark Arts are not shunned.“I went to school in Dresden, Germany. Not a big school but a more select private one. I am sorry I am not allowed to disclose more than its location to you without killing you.”

I don’t want to know! Please don’t kill me….. Lazare should be made an honorary member of Slytherin House.

TS: What was one of the best memories of your time at Hogwarts when you were a student? And, what was one of your worst?

OO: “My worst memory was being sorted. The sorting hat originally sorted me into Gryffindor! Needless to say, I did not agree with the choice, and after a lengthly process, I was finally sorted into my beloved Slytherin House with my mates. My best memory would have to be my second year here. Not only did we win the Quidditch Cup, but we also won the House Cup. Those were the days when Slytherin House was at it’s best. Don’t get me wrong, we were much like the Slytherin students are now, but winning the house cup was similar to winning a duel. The other houses were humiliated at the fact that they lost to us.”

LR: *Lazare didn’t go to Hogwarts*

Wow, I couldn’t imagine any house but Slytherin being the home to Ozzie. Poor Gryffindors, they had no idea… well, now they do. But the noble and proud House that is Slytherin won out. They won out on the members and on awards. Back when Ozzie went to Hogwarts is wasn’t unheard of for members in Slytherin House to actually wish to get points and beat the Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws out of the House Cup. Prehaps this year there can be a change.

TS: Do you have any family? If so, who are they?

OO: “I am an only child, and my parents are dead. I have a few cousins, somewhere, though I don’t know any of them.”

LR: “My parents are both dead and my siblings…”

TS: What is one interesting fact about yourself?

OO: “I love green cupcakes. Not just green icing on them, they are lime flavored.”

LR: “I like rabbits.”

I think Ozzie would get along very much with Vince Goyle… more specifically , his cupcakes. As for Lazare… okay… Such an odd man this one.

TS: Also, what would happen if say… Logan fails?

OO: That, my dear Taylor is not possible.

LR: Laughs.

So apparently Lazare and Ozzie doen’t think Logan would fail. Well, thats good. And here I was worried at talk of a rebellion.

Anyway, do to the amount of time needed for this interview, and the many interviews I have scheduled later, we at the Pensive have decided to brake these interviews down into two or three parts. At the bottom of the interview you will see a part One of Two, meaning that you need to stay tuned for the rest of my interview with Lazare and Ozzie. Do they kill me at the end? Do we eat green cupcakes? Well, you’re just have to wait. Cliff-hangers, don’t you love them? Part One of Two-

Glance in Advance

glance
By: Seymore Whydontcha

I was suddenly awakened last night by a strange feeling of dread. Never, in my life, has this happened to me. The feeling seemed to be pulling me toward my parlor and my crystal ball. I pulled on my robe, and padded downstairs with a low burning candle. As I entered the parlor, a chill ran up my spine, as though I was about to see something I was not allowed to see. I’m sure you all know what kind of feeling I speak of. Getting back to the subect, the parlor should have been completely dark, with the exception of the single candle I held, but it was not. There was a strange greenish-grey glow emanating from the crystal ball, instead of the foggy mist. I crept closer to the table, a feeling of unease growing with each step.

I finally reached the table, and set the candle down beside the crystal ball and peered into the glowing light. The light dimmed, but not very much, and showed me Hogwarts castle and grounds. The greenish-grey fog seemed to hang over the entire area. Shuddering, I thought back to the only other time an eerie sense hung over Hogwarts. That was during the great battle, when Voldemort was defeated by Harry Potter. Fearing the worse, but unable to look away, I peered more closely into the scene.

There were several rather large groups of students, from mixed houses, walking along with adults. These adults weren’t Professors, at least they didn’t appear to be Professors. Some groups of students were attacking other students and the adults seemed to be encouraging them rather than stopping them. This one group “captured” three students at one time. The captured students were a boy and two girls. One of the girls attempted to run away from them, but was not able to outrun the body bind spell that was cast at her.

I can’t say with any amount of certainty that the students doing the attacking were doing so of their own free will or not. One young boy appeared not to know which side he was on, seeing as he continually tries to attack the other students in his group with the adult. The greenish-grey light brightens once more, blocking out any view of the scene inside the crystal ball. I waited a few moments, expecting the light to dim once again, and show another scene. Another scene did not present itself, however, and left me completely stunned. This is a bad omen indeed.

What is going on at Hogwarts? Will the Professors, and students prevail, as they have in the past? So, with a heavy heart and curious mind, I leave pick up my candle and return to my bedroom, where I shall spend the night pondering over what I’ve seen, and hoping tomorrow with bring happier news.

Quidditch Balls
By Nick Shwimmer

Golden Buzzes

Strange sounds have been heard around the school, and some are not able to see where they are coming from. These sounds, however, are often followed by a golden light, just a small blink. Connecting to this, this week a young seeker headed down to the Quidditch Pitch. The pitch is still down, but the student decided to just get a few things to practice with anyway. While trying to find a Golden Snitch, he realized that he was not coming across any. Each set of materials had only the Quaffle, nothing else. Putting these together, seekers of all houses and all years have set off to try and find all of the snitches and return them before they get too far. This, naturally, is quite difficult as very few of them have their brooms.

As the young seeker also noted, only the Quaffles were in the boxes. So where were the bludgers? Many students at Hogwarts have reported bludgers to be flying after them on the grounds, in the castle, and even in Hogsmeade! It appears that the bludgers have been released as an act of the Dark Wizards and they are now chasing down various students. More specifically, many of the seekers are being targeted. As more bludgers are being seen, the question remains on how we are to get them back… before too many people are injured.

Magical Jeopardy

Hello Everybody! The next game of the Pensieve Puzzles will be MAGICAL JEOPARDY! In the past week, I have been creating an interactive Jeopardy board that four people can play on! Now, the contestants will only see an image of the board, to prevent cheating, but they will be playing LIVE! Not only to they get to have fun, but they get House Points as well! For every 100 points they earn in the game, they will receive 10 House Points! In other words, they will receive 10% of the points they earn in the game as House Points.
However, only ONE contestant will be allowed from each house, so submit applications to play! Once at least one member from each house has signed up, I will announce the four Finalists and the time that they are to be on Chatzy to play!
Good Luck!

Reports of Behaving Oddly

Wizards working inside Muggle Official Departments, say they have recieved reports of muggles behaving oddly. Mr. Oldin, a Ministry Official working in the muggle dept. explains, “Personally, I did not find anything peculiar about Ms. Halston’s behaviour. I have seen many muggles moving about stiffly. I believe it’s considered dancing to them.” This statement drew my curiosity into the types of reports that were filed. Moving along to another Ministry/Muggle Official, I spoke to Mr. Delton. When asked what these reports were about, he spoke in a grave voice as he gave his statement. “The first report we received was by a neighbor of Ms. Halston. The neighbor said Ms. Halston was walking in some kind of stiff, jerking motion. When we arrived at the house, the young woman was indeed walking strangely. We discovered she was under the effects of a potion, though we don’t know what kind of potion.”

Mr. Delton informed us the woman was taken to St. Mungo’s, where she was treated, and sent home several hours later, with no memory of the incident. Another report came from Little Hangleton, where a young muggle boy began barking like a dog, and chased a young girl that began meowing like a cat. This could have been regarded as simple childish behaviour, if this were all that happened. The cat-girl climbed a large tree, and crept onto a very high branch to escape the dog-boy. Family members of both children had not noticed the absence of their children until late the following day. When officials arrived, they found the boy barking at the girl in the tree. Ministry Officials were immediately informed, and arrived within minutes to sort out both children and get the girl safely out of the tree.

Normally, I would say these are just harmless pranks being played upon muggles. However due to the incidents occurring at Hogwarts, I cannot, in all honesty, say they are simple pranks. Is it possible that the dark wizards have taken over more than Hogwarts? I suppose we shall find out in time.
